Good morning this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Wednesday, March 29 at 8:30 a.m.
Surf at Folly is knee-high today. It’s a high angled north-east wind wave.
Winds are strong from the north – side-shore – and surf is semi clean, weak and drifty.
We have a low tide at 8:54 a.m., and a high tide at 2:57 p.m. The next low tide will be at 8:51 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 7 feet at 7 seconds on a high-angled, short period north-east wind swell, most of which is passing by our beaches and headed south.
It’s looking like north wind swell will be passing by our beaches for the middle part of the work-week. Best hope for more meaningful surf looks to be Friday into Saturday, when a cold front approaches and sends in a shot of south/south-west winds. This should push in another shot of choppy, drifty south-west wind-swell for Saturday possibly cleaning up on Sunday after the cold front passage.
The NOAA Marine Weather forecast for our area calls for: “A cold front will move south of the region early today, followed by High pressure through Friday. Another cold front will cross through the area Saturday, followed by high pressure into early next week.”
It’s chilly this morning. It’s 51* and overcast. Look for a cool day with a high of 63* and overcast skies.
Water temperature is back up to 65*.
Sunrise is at 7:12 a.m., and sunset will be at 7:36 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
