Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Wednesday, March 3 at 8:30 a.m.
We just received a shipment of Futures Fins, and a lot of spring merchandise and apparel is arriving daily. Get ready for spring with Ocean Surf Shop.
Surf at The Washout is waist-to-stomach high with a chest-high set.
Winds are from the north/north-east at 15 to 18 knots. Surf is side-shore and clean with a significant drift down the beach, north-to-south.
Look for increasing north winds at 15 to 20 knots with a gust to 25 knots. North winds fade to 15 later in the day. Surf will be drifty and side-shore all day.
We have a high tide at 10:41a.m., and a low tide at 4:40 p.m.
Virtual buoy readings are showing 4.5 ft. at 8 seconds in a medium-period south-east swell.
A low pressure system moves through our marine area today and off-shore this afternoon, pushing up some south-east swell before departing. Winds will be strong side-shore until late. Surf goes small again on Thursday, with another high-angled north-east style swell picking up Saturday into Sunday with overall poor conditions. Florida should get better waves late in the week and into the weekend.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “Low pressure will move across the area this morning and push farther offshore later today. High pressure will then prevail with another storm system likely brushing the area this weekend. High pressure will return again early next week.”
It is 49* with rain and clouds this morning. Look for a high of 60* today with clouds and some clearing this afternoon.
Water temperature is 57*. Look for it to drop a bit with colder weather expected this week.
Sunrise is at 6:43 a.m. and sunset will be at 6:18 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
