Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Wednesday, March 30 at 8:30 a.m.

Surf at The Washout this morning is maybe knee high. It’s a bit soft at the morning’s high tide. Doesn’t look too good this morning.

Winds are south/south-east at 5 knots,  and surf zone is semi-clean.

Look for increasing south winds at 10 to 15 knots this morning. Wind increases 15 to 20 knots this afternoon. We see a choppy surf-zone later this morning.

We are coming off a high tide. Low tide will be at 1:25 p.m. High tide will be at 7:40 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 2.6 feet at 4 seconds in a building, short-period south/south-east wind swell. This swell should build throughout the day.

We will begin to see another south wind swell starting later today as a warm front lifts north or our waters. A cold front passes overnight on Thursday, and we see strong south winds and big south wind swell in the head high range ahead of this front for Thursday. Friday sees a gradual clean-up as winds come off-shore. A cold front moves trough Friday, and this should stall off-shore for the weekend, keeping some longboard surf in the forecast Saturday into Sunday.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “A warm front will lift north across the area today, followed by the passage of a cold front late Thursday into early Friday, before stalling south of the region through the weekend. Dry high pressure will prevail early next week, before unsettled weather returns during the middle of next week.”

It’s currently 65 and mostly cloudy at the beach. Look for increasing clouds this afternoon and a high of 72*.

Water Temperature is around 64*.

Sunrise is at 7:09 a.m., and sunset will  p.m.
