Good morning this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Wednesday, May 17 at 8:30 a.m.

Surf is running knee-to-thigh-high with a waist high set at the higher ride. Looks fun for the high-volume board.

Winds are westerly at 10 knots, and the surf zone is fairly clean.

Look for westerly winds at 10 knots for the morning, going south-west at 10 to 15 knots this afternoon. We see choppier surf later today.

Low tide is at 12:45 p.m., and high tide will be at 7:12 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 4.6 feet at 6 seconds in a short period south/south west wind swell.

There are a few waves this morning for the longboard set. We see a cold front move into our marine area overnight, and this should bring with it some north-east winds for Thursday and Friday. High angled north-east wind swell should be the call Thursday through Sunday. It’ll be drifty and semi-choppy with most of your swell headed past Folly, but there will likely be something to ride, even if not perfect.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “A cold front will move through the region tonight as high pressure builds south into the Southeast. The high will weaken through the weekend as another cold front approaches.

Its 75* and sunny this morning. We look at a high of 83* and some thunderstorms moving in later today.

Water temperature is 75*.

Sunrise is at 6:19 a.m., and sunset will be at 8:13 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
