Wave Forecast: Knee-to-thigh.
Traffic: Some.

Dangers: None.

Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Wednesday, May 18 at 8:30 a.m.

We have new Torq boards and a shipment of Rusty surfboards that just arrived, come check them out. We also have Carver skateboards back in stock. Get ready for summer with Ocean Surf Shop.

Surf at The Washout this morning is knee-to-thigh high. It should push a waist high set as the tide comes in.

Winds are north/north-east at 10 knots, and surf zone is side-shore, and a bit drifty down the beach with semi-choppy conditions.  It is closing out in the bigger sets at the lower tide.

Look for winds to rotate more easterly and increase 10 to 15 knots this afternoon, chopping up the surf.

We are just coming off a low tide, and high tide will be at 2:10 p.m. The the next low tide will be at 8:11 p.m.

There are a few small waves for this morning, but it’s not much. Atlantic High pressure dominates our weather this week, and should see building, high-angled easterly wind swell fill in through the end of the week. Nothing too much, but as high pressure sets up off-shore mid-week, look for increasing, rideable easterly trade wind swell later in the work week averaging thigh-to-waist high with mostly choppy conditions.

Your National Weather Service Marine Weather forecast calls for: “High pressure will prevail across the region through early next week.”

We have nice beach weather. It’s 71 and partly cloudy. Look for a high of 74* today and partly cloudy skies.

Water temperature is around 72*.

Sunrise is at 6:16 a.m. and sunset will be at 8:15 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
