Good morning, this is Luke the kook with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Wednesday, April 30 at 8:30 a.m.
We have a ton of spring-suits and jackets in the shop, so as we get some spring swell, come check it out and stay warm with Ocean Surf Shop.
Surf is looking around knee to maybe a thigh high set on the incoming tide later. Looks like a great day for the logs.
Winds are currently light and variable. Look for southerly winds to pick up 10-15mph later today.
We just came off a low tide at 8:23 A.M., a high is tide approaching at 2:28 p.m. with the tide dropping out to low at 8:42 p.m.
The Edisto buoy is reading 2.6 feet at 8 seconds in medium period SE swell.
Surf is on the smaller side although looking fun this morning for the longboards as it’s a sheet of glass at report time. We have a weak high pressure sitting offshore and its pushing in a little longboard wave. This trend continues this week, not a ton of action but a longboard wave should be available. Later this weekend we might get another stronger round of SE flow and shot of SE swell. We will keep you updated overall nothing to exciting.
our National Weather Service Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “High pressure will prevail through much of the week. A weak disturbance will move through today and Wednesday, then a weak cold front will stall in the vicinity this weekend.”
Water temperature is hovering right around 70*, so spring suits and jackets are the call for mornings and evenings.
It’s a currently 69* sunny mixed with clouds and breezy. Today will be partly cloudy with a high of 78* .
Sunrise 6:34 a.m., Sunset 8:01p.m.
That’s all from us at Ocean Surf, check back tomorrow.
