Surf at The Washout this morning is knee-high with an occasional thigh set.
Winds are south-west at 15 knots, and surf is weak, choppy and slightly drifty up the beach.
Look for continue south-westerly later this morning at 15 knots, going south this afternoon at 10 to 15 knots with higher gusts. Surf will chop up as the day wears on.
Tide just started going out. We have a low tide at 2:18 p.m. The next high tide will be at 8:53 p.m.
We have weak south-west wind swell in the forecast pretty much all week as high-pressure stays anchored over our marine area. Bringing hot weather and choppy, weak, south-west wind swell to our waters for today. Surf should pick up in a continued choppy south-west wind swell Thursday into Saturday as a cold front approaches our waters and south/south-west winds increase for the next few days.
Your National Weather Service Marine Weather forecast calls for: “High pressure will extend across the region tonight, followed by a broad area of low pressure over the region through Friday. A cold front is expected to cross through this weekend. High pressure will then build over the area early next week.”
If you were longing for summer, it’s here. It’s a hot, humid 75* and sunny. Look for a high around 83* and a mixture of sun and clouds this afternoon with high humidity.
Water temperature is around 77*.
Sunrise is at 6:14 a.m. and sunset will be at 8:19 p.m.
