Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Wednesday, Nov. 13 at 8:30 a.m.

Colder weather swell is coming this weekend, and we have a great selection of booties, hoods and gloves out on the floor, so come get your cold-water gear while the selection is still good.

Surf at Folly this morning is thigh high with waist high sets in a high-angled north-east wind swell.

Winds are north at 20 to 25 knots. There is a LOT of current, north-to-south down the beach.

Look for north winds today at 20 to 30 knots, early. Diminishing to 15 knots later this afternoon. We see current and building north/north-east wind swell all day.

We just came off a high tide. Low tide will be at 2:12 p.m. The next high tide will be at 8:15 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 8 ft. at 8 seconds in a north-east wind swell.

We expect strong north winds mid-week, rotating north-east by Thursday. We have  lots of north/north-east wind swell in the water. This swell will again pass our shores and head south of our waters, with north-east wind swell starting to wrap in Thursday afternoon. For the weekend, things get interesting as a low-pressure system looks to develop just north of our coast-line Saturday and Sunday. We could see ground-swell this weekend with strong north winds keeping bigger surf side-shore and drifty. Better have some neoprene, as it will be a cold, raw and rainy swell event this weekend.

It is cold as hell out here at the beach. It’s 35* with a wind chill of 25*.  Look for a high of only 50* today with sun.

Water temperature is dropping rapidly. It’s 64*.

Sunrise is at 6:47 a.m. and sunset will be at 5:19 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
