Semi-choppy to choppy

Time of Report: 8:45 a.m.
Wave Forecast: Waist-to-stomach.
Traffic: None
Parking: Plenty
Dangers: Current and wind

Good morning this is Chad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Wednesday, Nov 15th at 8:45 a.m.

A lot of water at the washout with the high tide and NE winds. It’s definitely building and looks around waist-stomach high. Problem is too much water and its having a hard time breaking. Plus the wind and current. Dropping tide could be worth checking for a drift session.

Winds again are currently north-east at 10 mph making for drifty conditions, and a little choppy. Expect NE winds to stay around 10-15 mph with 20 mph gusts today.

High tide was at 8:43 a.m. We have a low tide is 3:07 p.m., and next high tide will be 8:51 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 2.6 feet at medium period 9 seconds from the south-east. Also we  have 5.2 feet at 7.7 seconds in short period easterly wind-swell most of which is heading south past our shores.

Swell is building with the north-east wind. Could be something to check out as the tide drops of you don’t mind the drift. Tomorrow winds will be more easterly and should pick up a little, but a lot of water moving in with the high tide is softening it up. We have a low pressure moving in as we approach the weekend. This will interact with our marine area Friday/Saturday we will keep you posted but its looking good. Friday just before dark the winds are forecasted to go more northerly, might clean up before the sun sets. Saturday should have some fun waves.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “An area of Low pressure will move up the coast Thursday into Friday, then a cold front will move through late Saturday. High pressure will build in early next week.”

Water temperature is starting to drop, it’s around 67*.

It’s 61* cloudy and windy. Look for a high of 67*, cloudy with a chance of rain.

Sunrise is at 6:48 a.m. Sunset is right at 5:19 p.m.
