Good morning. This is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Wednesday, November 26 at 8:30 a.m.
Just real quick, we’d like to mention our Black Friday weekend sale. Come on and check out some stellar deals on boards and apparel.
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. I’m sure we can all agree we are thankful for waves.
And speaking of waves, waves at the outgoing tide this morning are running thigh with a waist high set and are choppy.
We have moderate south/south-west wind at 10 knots. We see wind swing more south-west as the dear wears on, and winds increase 15 to 20 with choppy conditions expected today.
Low tide is at 11:28 a.m., and high tide is at 5:54 p.m.
The Edisto buoy is showing 3.6 ft. at 5 sec. in a short period east south-west wind swell.
We have choppy south-west wind swell for your Wednesday, and surf looks to drop off for Thanksgiving Day after a cold front passage today. Our best hope for a shot of decent swell looks like it’ll be early next work week – just in time for everyone to go back to work and school, right? High pressure sets up off the Mid-Atlantic and should push in a decent trade wind swell so look for choppy but bigger surf Monday and Tuesday of next week. A cold front passage mid-week will knock the surf back down later in the day Wednesday into Thursday.
Our friends over at NOAA predict: “A strong cold front will sweep through late today, with high pressure building into the region Thursday and into the weekend.”
Water temp is around 62*.
It’s 66* and sunny this morning. Looking for a high is 72* and sun. Overall it’ll be a nice beach day with some wind in the forecast.
Sunrise was 7:00 a.m. Sunset 5:16 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
