Good morning this is Chad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Wednesday, Nov 8th at 8:30 a.m. Is it me or did we just a fun fall of surf? Guess it’s time to get a few things done that I’ve been putting off.

With the time change, we have changed our shop hours. We are now open for winter hours from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. We will still close at 5 p.m. on Sundays.

Surf at the Washout is just shy of being flat.

Winds are trending west this morning around 5 kts. In the afternoon winds are forecasted to be more southerly around 5-10 kts. Expect light chop.

Low tide is approaching at 9:51 a.m., High tide will be 4:02 p.m. Your next low tide is 10:15 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 1.6 feet at 10 seconds feet in a medium period ESE swell.

Not much out there today, so time to catch up on some unfinished work. We have high pressure in control of our marine area, and we’re going to see surf on the smaller side of the wave spectrum through late week. For later in the week, a cold front advances Friday night, and we see some pre-frontal south wind chop, followed by strong north-east wind swell for the weekend. This is a good week to go inshore fishing, that’s probably the best call.  Possibly some surf to start next week.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “High pressure will extend across the region through Friday. A cold front will drop into the area Friday night, then high pressure will gradually build in from the north.

Water temperature is starting to drop, it’s around 65*.

The weather is beautiful. It’s 64* and sunny. Look for a high of 75* today with sun. It’s beautiful out here.

Sunrise is at 6:42 a.m. Sunset is right at 5:24 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
