WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 6TH, 2024

Semi-choppy

Time of Report: 8:30 a.m.
Wave Forecast: Waist-to-stomach. A bit bigger, occasionally.
Traffic: None
Parking: Plenty.
Dangers: None.

Good morning, this is Charlie (the first official gal surf reporter at OSS) with your Ocean Surf Shop report and forecast at 8:30 a.m. for Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at The Washout.

We just marked down the majority of our summer gear so come grab some before the holiday’s and while the prices are still low!

Surf at folly is waist to chest high with lots of power. Winds are on-shore with some drift in the water but we still have some decent sets coming in. Definitely worth bringing your board out for some surf before work or to squeeze in some waves in-between classes or during your lunch break.

Looks like we will have similar surf in the next couple days so keep an eye out.

Winds are currently ESE at 8 mph and should increase to 12-13 mph as the day continues.

We have a high tide approaching at 10:31 a.m. with a low tide at 5:02 p.m.

Edisto Buoy is reading 6.9 feet at 10 seconds in long period south-easterly swell.

Our guys over at NOAA predict that “High pressure will prevail across the area today, as Hurricane Rafael moves toward Cuba. Rafael will then move into the Gulf of Mexico by Thursday, allowing for broad high pressure to the north and northeast of the area to build back in late in the week and early next week.”

Water temp is 70*

It’s 75* and cloudy with a high of 77*. It’ll stay cloudy for the majority of the day and we may have some rain come in around 4 p.m.

Sunrise was at 6:42 a.m. and Sunset will be at 5:24 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast.
