Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Wednesday, October 14 at 8:30 a.m.

Surf at Folly is flat.

Winds are north – side/off-shore – at 10 knots. Surf zone is clean.

Look for winds to shift north-east at 10 to 15 knots, adding chop to small north-east wind chop surf this afternoon.

Tide is going out. We have a low tide at 12:15 p.m., and a high tide will be at 6:30 p.m.

Edisto Buoy is down. Virtual buoy is showing 2 ft at 6 seconds in medium period east swell.

This swell continues to be smaller into late-week as north-east winds continue to push swell past our beaches. We also have a low in the Eastern Atlantic starting to fire up as it approaches the Lesser Antilles that could head into the Caribbean. This low has got a rough road ahead, but it’s something to keep an eye on in the tropics for maybe week-to-ten-days out.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “High pressure will prevail through the remainder of the week before a cold front pushes southeast through the region Friday. High pressure will once again prevail thereafter.”

It’s 68* with bright sun at the beach this morning. Look for a great beach day with sun and a high of 75*.

Water temperature is 75*.

Sunrise is at 7:23 a.m. and sunset will be at 6:46 p.m.
