Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Wednesday, October 20 at 8:30 a.m.

We just received a shipment of new Carver Surfskates. Come get one while we still have a good selection.

Surf at the Washout is perhaps flatter than yesterday if that’s even possible.

Winds are north-west at 5 knots, and surf zone is very clean.

Look for north-west winds at 10 knots today, going south-west atm 10 knots late day.

We are just coming off a high tide, and low tide will be at 2:31 p.m. The next high tide will be at 8:39 p.m.

The Edisto buoy is reading 1.3 feet at 7 seconds in a medium-period east/south-east swell.

We have basically no surf today, but it is one of the nicest beach days we’ve had since probably May. We see high-pressure set up over our marine weather for the end of work week with moderate north winds and nice weather on tap. Winds come south-west on Friday ahead of a cold front, making for knee to thigh high south-west wind chop. High pressure will dominate our weather pattern Saturday and into the next work week. Unfortunately surf is looking small for the next five days.Tropics are quiet for now.

Your National Weather Service Marine Weather Forecast for our area calls for: “High pressure will move offshore through Thursday. A cold front is forecasted to move through the region on Friday, followed by high pressure for the weekend and early next week.”

It’s 61* and sunny this morning. It’s beautiful and cool.  Look for a high of 75* today with sun. It’s a perfect fall beach day.

Water temperature is 74*.

Sunrise is at 7:27 a.m. and sunset will be at 6:42 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
