Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Wednesday, Oct. 23 at 8:30 a.m.

We will have the full line of Billabong and O’Neill jackets, full-suits, and spring suits on the floor. Get ready for some cooler weather.

Surf at the Washout this morning is ankle high. There is a rare knee set. It’s really small with this offshore wind

We have north-west winds at 10 to 12 knots, and surf zone is very clean.

Look for winds to rotate more northerly today at 15 to 20, and surf should be beat-down today as there is not much swell.

We have a low tode at 9:54 p.m., and a high tide will be at 4:14 p.m. The next low tide is at 10:39 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 2.3 ft. at 10 seconds in a long period east swell. With a short period west/north-west winds swell pushing against it  4.3 ft. at 5 seconds.

We expect smaller surf for mid-week. Look for increased on-shore winds and bigger south swell building Saturday into Sunday as we see a series of low-pressure systems passes across our marine area. Winds will be easterly – side-shore – for the swell, so expect choppy waist-to-stomach high wind swell for Saturday into Sunday.

It’s 57* with bright sunshine. Look for a high of 73* and sun all day.

Water temperature is still around 74*, but could drop a few degrees as this cooler weather continues.

Sunrise is at 7:30 a.m. and sunset will be at 6:37 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
