Surf at the Washout is thigh-to-waist high with a stomach high set.

Winds are east/north-east at 10-to-15 knots, and surf zone is choppy and weak.

Look for winds to rotate more easterly and pick up late morning at 15 to 18 knots. Surf stays side-shore and choppy this afternoon.

We have a high tide as of report time, low tide will be at 2:24 p.m. The next high tide will be at 8:29 p.m.

The Edisto buoy is reading 3.6 feet at 6 seconds in a short-period south-easts wind swell.

Surf should average waist high with a slightly bigger set over the next three days with choppy conditions. We see increasing easterly wind swell as a home-grown low pressure system approaches our marine area through late week. Look for choppy conditions as a storm system moves through our beaches and into our marine area from the west late week. We should see rideable, choppy wind-swell through Saturday, dropping off some Sunday and into the work week.

Your National Weather Service Marine Weather Forecast for our area calls for: “A complex storm system will bring periods of unsettled weather through late this week. Weak high pressure will build across the region this weekend and will linger into early next week.”

It’s mostly cloudy and 76* this morning. Look for a high of 78* today and thunderstorms moving in off the ocean today. We should see mostly cloudy skies and rain showers in the area today.

Water temperature is 79*.
