Wave Forecast: thigh-to-waist. Stomach set.
Traffic: Not too bad. It's nice to be a local again.
Parking: Yes.
Dangers: None.

Good morning this is Bates, with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Wednesday, October 25 at 8:30 a.m.

We have wetsuits on the floor for this upcoming swell, including spring suit styles and full suits.

Also, all men’s board shorts and hybrids are on sale, so come check them out. We have a great selection.

Surf at the Pier on the outgoing tide is running thigh-to-waist high with a stomach high set compliments of Hurricane Tammy.

Winds have out of the north/north-east around 10 knots. Wave faces are fairly clean, and there is a slight southerly drift. We expect winds to turn out of the north-east around 10 to 15 knots midafternoon. Easterly winds start honking late day at 15 to 20, so it’ll get choppier out there as the day wears on.

We’ll see a low tide at 11:24 a.m., and a high tide will be at 5:48 pm.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 3.3 feet at 11 seconds in a long period east/south-east ground swell from Hurricane Tammy, with a short period east south-east wind swell reading 4 feet at 6 seconds.

Plenty of decent swell offshore, so we should have some waves today, but the wind will be getting into it by afternoon. We have Hurricane Tammy moving through our swell window this week. There should be something to ride through Saturday as we see increased ground swell while Tammy lingers in our swell window this week. The only fly in the soup will be north/north-east winds, but it’ll still be fun. Get on some neoprene and get wet this week.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “ Dry high pressure will prevail across the region into early next week before a cold front arrives late Monday into Tuesday. Colder high pressure will then prevail heading into the middle of next week.”

Water temperature is around 68*.

It’s beautiful this morning. It’s 66* with high clouds. Look for sun and a high of 75* today. It’s a beautiful day to enjoy Folly.

Sunrise is at 7:31 a.m., and sunset will be at 6:36 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
