Good morning, this is Luke da Kook with your morning surf report for, Wednesday October 2nd, at 8:30 am.
Surf is currently pretty flat around Folly, winds are super light as well out of the West around 5-10kt and not expected to jump much from that.
Winds will be light ENE 5-10mph today.
We just came off a high tide at 8:26 a.m. Low tide is at 2:32 p.m., incoming tide for the remainder of the day from there.
Edisto Buoy is reading 2.3 feet at 4 seconds out of the N moving away from shore.
As said it is literally as flat as it gets out there, high pressure has settled back in this should continue into tomorrow. Looking further ahead we have a lot going on in the Atlantic. 1st, we have Hurricane Kirk moving westward and strengthening forecasted to turn north around the eastern Caribbean. Long period groundswell from kirk should be expected our later portion of the weekend. 2nd, Right behind Kirk NHC is giving a system 90% chance of developing and models suggest a hurricane will form near the Lesser Antiles islands and head our general direction late weekend/early next week. 3rd, finally still watching a possible low form in the Gulf of Mexico in the coming days. In short our first uptick in surf will be groundswell from kirk arriving late weekend into early next week and we could have a possible wave train from there. Late season pop well take it.
Its Sunny and pleasant outside high of 84*
Sunrise is at 7:15 a.m., Sunset 7:05 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast.
