Good morning, this is Bates with your surf report for Wednesday, October 30 at 9 a.m.

Some fun waves today, so if you’re not taking the kids to The Coastal Carolina Fair and all, go surf.

Surf at The Washout is waist to stomach high at the high tide this morning. There is a chest set.

Surf conditions are bumpy and semi-chop, but it looks like there are some sections, and quite frankly I’m surprised no one is really out.

We have easterly winds at 10 knots, early. Easterly winds are in the forecast at around 10 knots for the rest of the week, so it’s not a bad time to go surf as there is plenty of trade-wind swell in the forecast through Friday. It will have varying degrees of quality and rideability, but overall there is fun surf.

We will have a low tide at 1:15 p.m. and then a high tide right around sunset at 7:15 p.m.

Edisto Buoy is reading 5.6 feet at 7 seconds in a medium period east/south-east wind swell ground swell combo. So there is lots of swell at the buoy, and should push in some surf late week, and high tide is in the early morning and late evening, so get some.

After Friday, we see a return to north/north-east winds after a cold front passage overnight Friday. This high pressure will likely again set up to our north and we get some more Tradewind swell. NCH is not predicting any tropical swell for the next several days, but we should have a good run of waves and for some reason there is no one out. Surf isn’t really scary and barreling, but we’ll all it “Hollow-een” conditions for late week and should build again over the weekend. Go surf!

Our guys (and gals) over at NOAA predict that a “High pressure will prevail before a cold front moves through Friday night into early Saturday. High pressure will return for the weekend and early next week.”

Water temp is 70* and as we get closer to those colder water temperatures, come stop by and grab some Neoprene and stay warm.

It’s 66* and sunnyt. Looks like we may have a bit of sun and some passing clouds today a high of 79*.

Sunrise was at 7:35 a.m. and Sunset will be at 6:31 p.m.
