Wednesday Pier
Good morning folks, this is Eazy-E with your surf report & forecast for Wednesday, June 11th coming to you from the pier.
Pretty small and weak this morning, some ankle bitters with occasional shin (maybe knee)-high set coming in here and there. Pretty mushy so if you’re looking to get out a higher volume board would be best. It’s looking like a super nice and sunny day today with winds making the water a little choppy through the day.
Winds are currently coming from the SW at 12kt with gusts up to 20kt. Winds will pick up a bit this afternoon hitting around 20kt.
We had a low tide this morning around 6:13 a.m. Look for a high tide this afternoon at 2:03 p.m., followed by a low tide tonight before sunset at 8:10 p.m.
The Edisto buoy is currently reading 3.6 ft at 5 seconds coming out of the SSW.
Not a crazy fun wave to be had today and tons of texture due to the SW winds increasing as well. But if all fails and there is nothing to do I bet a long board could find a few waves to wiggle on. Either way the sun will be out and the day looks to be nice.
Our guys and gals at NOAA predict that a: “High pressure in the Atlantic will prevail across the Southeast this week. A cold front could approach, then pass just to our north later this week”. With that said there seems to be some energy in the water we are just waiting for the organization to come in and shape up a few fun nuggs for us to cruise on.
Water temperature is about 78*… sheesh
It is a beautiful morning here on the island, currently 80* and mostly sunny. Look for sunshine all day with a high of 86*. Expect winds to pick up a little as we head into the late afternoon/night.
Sunrise was at 6:13 a.m. and the sunset will be at 8:31 p.m.
Thanks for tuning in for today’s Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast.
