Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Tuesday, September 10 at 8:45 a.m.
We’ve got neoprene on the floor including spring-suits and full suits, so come get ready for some cooler water temperatures.
Waves at the pier look pretty fun this morning. It’s running thigh to waist high. It is soft at the higher tide this morning, but winds are side/off from the north/north-west at around 12 knots, so it’s clean. Probably best for the high-volume board.
Winds should continue north today around 10 knots, so surf-zone should be fairly clean today with a slight current down the beach.
High tide was 10:17 a.m., low tide is 4:02 p.m. Tide will move back in until after dark.
The Edisto Buoy is showing swell from the east/north-east at 2.6 at 7 seconds with a shorter period east/north-east wind swell 3 feet at 5 seconds.
There are some decent longboard waves to be had out here today, and will likely be a thigh-to-waist wave as the tide come in around sunset for your evening session.
Our friends at NOAA predict a; “Surface high pressure will prevail through the end of the week.”
We have east/north-east swell in the water today. This looks to fade some Wednesday through Friday as a frontal boundary sits off-shore and dissipates. We see more strong north-east winds off-shore Friday through Sunday, so we should see drifty east/north-east swell continue with semi-choppy conditions this weekend.
Water temperature is around 80*.
It is 74* this morning and cloudy. Look for a high of 80* at the beach today with clouds and sun mixed.
Sunrise was 7:01 a.m., Sunset 7:35 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
