Good morning this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Wednesday, September 14 at 8:30 a.m.
Waves at Folly this morning are averaging knee-high with a thigh set. It’s semi-clean and weak with a fresh north/north-east wind at 10 to 12 knots. It’s starting to get that north angle in it, and this should continue trough the next several days. Bring the longboard and get a glide.
Winds continue from the north-east today at 10 to 12 knots, and surf zone stays semi-clean and small today.
High tide will be at 11:51 a.m., and low tide will be at 5;44 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 2 feet at 10 seconds in a longer period east/south-east swell.
Surf looks small at Folly today and Thursday. High pressure sets up over our marine area today, as a frontal boundary stalls to our south-east. This will bring strong north-east winds and high angled, short period north-easterly conditions Friday through Sunday. It’ll be drifty down the beach and likely average thigh to waist high Friday through Sunday. There is also Invest 96L, a possible tropical system moving into the Caribbean this weekend. This could push some swell into our beaches early next week, but it’ll have to punch though the high pressure dominating our marine weather area.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “High pressure will prevail inland as a stationary front lingers offshore through early next week.”
Water Temperature is around 83*.
It’s 74* and mostly cloudy this morning with lower humidity. Look for the sun to come out with a high of 83* this afternoon.
Sunrise is at 7:02 a.m., and sunset will be at 7:28 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
