Traffic: Not much.
Parking: Plenty.
Dangers: None.

Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Wednesday, September 25 at 8:30 a.m.

We have tons of wetsuit tops, jackets and spring-suits for men and women. Come on by and pick one up as the morning air temperature is starting to cool off some.

Surf at The Washout this morning is thigh-to-waist high with stomach high sets. It’s closing out at the morning’s low tide, but should get better as the tide comes in early afternoon. High volume boards recommended.

Winds are light from the south, and surf is bumpy, with some clean faces.

Look for south winds at 5 to 10 knots this afternoon, and we should see some bump in the smaller ground-swell later today.

Low tide is at 11:13 a.m., and high tide will be at 5:36 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 3.9 ft. at 9 seconds in a long-period east/south-east ground swell.

Surf looks like it will not be quite as big as it has been, but it’s still pretty fun. Groundswell from Tropical Storm Jerry should continue falling off some today. Looking ahead, tropical storm Karen will continue to push north of Puerto Rico today and into our swell window. This should reinforce south-east swell during the latter part of the week. Also a fresh new wave off Africa has developed into tropical storm Lorenzo, but we’ll wait-and-see if it sends any surf our way. Lots of action in the Atlantic for the next 10 days. Well keep you posted, but safe to say well be surfing a lot.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for:
“A weak stalled front across the area will dissipate through mid-week with unseasonably warm temperatures continuing.
Slightly cooler high pressure will then return this weekend through early next week.

We have nice weather this morning. It’s 77* and sunny. Look for a hot day with a high of 89* and sun today.

Water temperature is 80*.

Sunrise is at 7:09 a.m. and sunset will be at 7:11 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
