Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Wednesday, October 15 at 8:30 a.m.
We have wetsuit gear at the shop, so come on by and tackle these cooler October mornings.
We’ve had a great run of waves to start the month of October, but it might be time to do some fishing, as waves are pretty for the log, but smaller than they have been over the past week or so.
Surf at Folly this morning is knee to thigh high. Should push a waist high set on the incoming tide, but it’s not super appealing this morning considering what we’ve enjoyed over the past few weeks.
Winds are north/north-east at 15 knots, Surf is side-shore, drifty and semi-choppy. Winds are expected north/north-east all day at 15 to 18 knots.
We have a low tide this morning at 9:30 a.m., and a high tide this afternoon at 4:08 p.m.
Edisto Buoy is reading 5 feet at 6 seconds in a high-angled, north-east wind swell. Most swell is running south of our marine area.
We see similar north-east wind swell for the remainder of the work week. Likely something to ride on the bigger board, but not great. Tropics are quiet for now, but we’ll keep you updated.
Our friends over at NOAA predict that, “High pressure will extend into the region this week. A dry cold front will drop south through the area Wednesday night. Another cold front could impact the area late in the weekend.”
We have prefect fall weather. It’s around 65* this morning with lots of sunshine. Look for a high of 75* today with sun all day. It’s really nice at the beach.
Sunrise was 7:23 a.m. Sunset 6:47 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
