FULL SURF REPORT
Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Tuesday, September 26 at 8:30 a.m.
Surf this morning is running knee-to-thigh high and is clean and weak. There is a little longboard wave out there this morning.
Winds are north at 5 knots, expected to come east at 5 to 10 knots this afternoon. We should see slight surface chop on small waves today.
We have a loww tide at 11:35 a.m. today with high tide filling in at 6:09 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 2.6 ft at 9 seconds in a medium period east/south-east swell.
Might be a little longboard glide out here this morning with clean conditions as the tide goes out. We will have unstable weather producing north-east late week and into the weekend. We should see some high angled wind-swell as a result late week. We have Tropical Storm Phillipe still heading our general direction still a bit early to tell what we may see from that system but something to keep our eyes on. Also lots of moisture looks to hang around Florida over the weekend some models are starting to sniff out a low being produced around Florida early next week. Lots of uncertainty but plenty of hope. For now late work week is our best bet just keep expectations in check as strong north-east winds will be blowing.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “A wedge of high pressure will build into the region Wednesday and linger into early next week as a broad trough of low pressure holds well offshore.”
Water temperature is around 78*.
It’s 75 and cloudy. Look for temps around 80* today with clouds and light rain this afternoon.
Sunrise is at 7:07 a.m., and sunset will be at 7:17 p.m.
