We will be closed for Thanksgiving, and hope everyone has a safe and happy Turkey Day.
We’ll be having our “Schwack” Friday sale Friday, with 25% off Sunglasses, apparel and more, as well as $125 off of any NEW board in the shop, excluding soft-boards (we’ll mark those down as well). Make sure to check it out and save some money on your Christmas gifts.
Waves at the Washout are waist to stomach and clean. There is a slightly bigger set. It looks fun out there this morning.
Winds are north-west at 5 to 10 knots. Wind is off-shore, and surf is clean.
We expect side-shore north winds at 10 knots today, and surf should stay fairly clean today.
We have a high tide at 10 a.m., and a low tide at 4:15 p.m.
Edisto buoy is reading 4.3 ft. at 7 seconds in short period east/south-east wind swell and medium period south-east swell. There is some swell at the buoy with good direction, and we should have some waves all day.
A series of low pressure systems move off/near-shore today through Friday, and we expect waist to stomach high south-easterly swell today with clean conditions. North-east winds and east/south-east swell should continue on Thanksgiving Day. Look for a higher east/north-east angle in the swell Friday and into the weekend, as swell fades some late in the holiday weekend. The holiday to have some rideable surf, so hopefully you can get away from family obligations and surf-off some of that turkey and stuffing.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “High pressure will gradually build across the area today. A series of low pressure systems will track from the northern Gulf of Mexico up the Southeast coast tonight through Friday night. A cold front will shift through the area Saturday night, followed by dry high pressure through the middle of next week.
It’s a cool 61* this morning and cloudy. Look for some sun behind the clouds this afternoon, and a high of 69*.
Water temperature has dropped to 60*.
Sunset is at 5:15 p.m. and sunrise will be at 6:54 a.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
