Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Monday, Nov. 20 at 8:15 a.m.
We’ll be having our “Schwack” Friday sale starting the day after Thanksgiving, with 25% off Sunglasses, apparel and more, as well as $125 off of any NEW board in the shop, excluding soft-boards (we’ll mark those down as well). Make sure to check it out and save some money on your Christmas gifts.
Waves at the Washout are flat. Maybe ankle to knee high and soft at the high tide.
Winds are north/north-east at 10 to 15 knots. Surf is side-shore and semi-choppy.
We have a high tide at 8:45 a.m., and a low tide will be at 2:57 p.m. The next high tide is at 8:50 p.m.
Edisto buoy is reading 3.6 ft. at 6 seconds in short period north/north-east wind swell.
We see small surf to start your holiday work week before east/south-east swell builds overnight Tuesday, increasing Wednesday as high pressure sets up to our north-east, and sends in some fun trade-wind swell. Starting overnight Thursday a series of low pressure systems affects our area moving off-shore of our waters along a stalled frontal boundary. Look for a higher east/north-east angle in the swell Friday and into the weekend, as well fades some late in the holiday weekend. Mid-week looks to have some pretty fun surf, so there is some surf on tap to go with your turkey and cranberry sauce.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “High pressure will prevail into Tuesday. Low pressure will pass off the Southeast coast Tuesday and Tuesday night, followed by additional low pressure systems Thursday into Friday. A cold front will shift through the area Saturday night or Sunday.”
It’s a cold 44* this morning with sun. Look for sunny skies today with a high of 61*
Water temperature has dropped to 61*.
Sunset is at 5:15 p.m. and sunrise will be at 6:54 a.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
