Waves at the Washout are knee to thigh high in weak choppy south-west wind waves. There is an occasional waist high set.
Surf is side-shore, drifty and choppy.
Winds are south-west at 15 knots. We see westerly winds pick up 15 to 20 this afternoon, making for blown-out surf.
Low tide is at 9:14 a.m., and high tide will be at 3:23 p.m. The next low tide at 9:37 p.m.
Edisto buoy is reading 5.6 ft. at 7 sec. in short period west/south-west wind swell.
Waves are pretty cold this morning in west/south-west wind waves in drifty choppy conditions. A dry cold front approaches today and pushes up a very small west wind wave this morning. Surf fades for Wednesday. Low pressure passes off-shore on Friday, but we see off-shore winds, and it’s hard to tell if this low pressure will kick up any surf, but it’ll likely be small at best. Not a lot of surf in the forecast with cold fronts approaching and high pressure set up over our marine area in between these fronts.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “A dry cold front will move through the region today followed by high pressure through Thursday. Another cold front will push into the area Friday while low pressure passes offshore. Dry high pressure will return Saturday and persist into Sunday before a cold front approaches the area early next week.”
It’s 49* with bright sunshine this morning. Look for a high of 62* today with sun.
Water temperature keeps going down, and is now 55*.
Sunset is at 5:13 p.m. and sunrise will be at 7:11 a.m.
