Pretty, clean, nice.

Time of Report: 8 a.m.
Wave Forecast: Knee. Rare thigh.
Traffic: Moderately busy.
Parking: Still some to be found.
Dangers: None.

Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Thursday, May 3 at 8 a.m.
A whole new shipment of Stewart surfboards has just arrived, including Epoxy Redline and 949 models. Come check it out.
Surf at the Washout is running ankle to knee high. There is a rare bigger set. It’s very clean, and is probably rideable on the longboard as the tide comes in this morning.
Wind is very light from the north, and surf zone is clean.
Look for southerly winds this afternoon averaging 5 knots. The surf should stay fairly clean all day.
We have a high tide at 10:51 a.m., and a low tide will be at 4:47 p.m.
The Edisto buoy reading 2 ft. at 7 seconds in east/south-east medium period swell.
Smaller surf today, but surf should build over the next several days. There is a chance we could see some SMALL trade-wind swell begin Friday afternoon into Saturday as high pressure begins to slide to our west. Surf could increase Sunday, holding for Monday. Nothing too big, but looking at waist to stomach high trade wind swell as we sit on the western edge of a Bermuda style high pressure this weekend. Local winds should be moderate, and weather should be nice, so we should see a nice little multiple day swell.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “High pressure will remain in control through this weekend. A cold front should impact the area early next week. High pressure should then return during the middle of next week.”
It is sunny at the beach this morning and 62*. Look for a high of 79* with sun today. We have beautiful beach weather.
Water temperature is now up to around 70*.
Sunset is at 8:02 p.m. and sunrise will be at 6:31 a.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
