Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Monday, June 11 at 8:30 a.m.
Surf at the Washout is ankle to knee high. There is actually a thigh high set, early. So it is longboardable, but it’s not great.
Winds are north west at 10 knots, and surf zone is very clean.
Look for south-west winds at 5 to 10 knots today going 15 knots late day, adding some chop to the surf zone.
Tide is going out, low tide will be at 12:16 p.m. The next high tide will be at 6:39 p.m.
The Edisto buoy is reading 3.3 ft. at 5 seconds in a predominately south/south-west wind swell, with a slight swell from the east/south-east.
South-west wind swell looks to build some into mid-week in weak, choppy, conditions in the thigh to waist high range. It certainly won’t be an epic swell event, but bigger than last week, which is not saying too much. Look for typical summer south-west wind swell conditions.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “A weak cold front will approach from the north today into Tuesday before lifting back north as a warm front by Wednesday. A trough is forecasted to prevail inland for the second half of the week followed by a backdoor cold front this weekend.”
It is 79* and sunny this morning. Look for a high of 89* with a 20% chance of a thunderstorm.
Water temperature is 82*
Sunset is at 8:28 p.m. and sunrise will be at 6:10 a.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
