Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Tuesday, August 28 at 8:30 a.m.
Make sure to keep in mind we’ll be having a Labor Day Sale Friday through Monday with 25% off apparel, sunglasses, footwear and more. We’ll also have $75 off any Tim Jump Secula surfboard in the shop. Come check it out.
Keep in mind bulldozers and beach re-nourishment area taking place at the Washout. They’ve added about 6 feet of sand and the area is currently blocked off. Might want to try the pier this morning.
Surf at the Pier this morning is averaging flat to about knee high.
Winds are south-east at 3 to 5 knots. Surf zone is semi-choppy and weak.
Look for south-easterly winds at 10 knots this afternoon. Surf should be semi-choppy later today.
We have a high tide at 9:38 a.m., and a low tide will be at 3:42 p.m. The next high tide is at 10:03 p.m.
The Edisto buoy is reading 2 ft. at 7 seconds in a small medium period easterly/south-easterly swell.
Not much surf on the horizon for this week as high pressure will control our weather. We could see some small south-east trade wind swell late in the weekend and to begin September as high pressure over the Atlantic moves more more north. This should push up some small trade-wind swell this weekend for the longboard. Nothing too big, but not as flat as it has been.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “Atlantic high pressure will remain the dominant feature through the upcoming weekend.”
It’s 81* and partly cloudy this morning. Look for a high of 86* and a 20% chance of storms this afternoon.
Water temperature is 84*.
Sunset is at 7:51 p.m. and sunrise will be at 6:48 a.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
