Good morning, this is Annie with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Wednesday, August 29 at 8:30 a.m.

We’ll be having a Labor Day Sale Friday through Monday with 25% off apparel, sunglasses, footwear and more. We’ll also have $75 off any Tim Jump Secula surfboard in the shop. Come shop!

Keep in mind bulldozers and beach re-nourishment area taking place at the Washout. They’ve added about 6 feet of sand and the area is currently blocked off.

Surf at the Pier this morning is about knee high.

Winds are light and surf is clean. If you’re real patient you might be able to get into something on a log.

Look for light, southerly winds today at about 5 knots.  Surf zone should remain clean throughout the day.

We have a high tide at 10:14 a.m., and a low tide will be at 4:22 p.m. The next high tide is at 10:37 p.m.

The Edisto buoy is reading 1.6 ft. at 4.2 seconds in a wind/swell combination.

Not much surf on the horizon for this week as high pressure will control our weather. We could see some small south-east trade wind swell late in the weekend and over Labor Day as high pressure over the Atlantic moves north. Friday winds are expected to switch from the E/NE making protected spots a possibility for sure. This should push up some small trade-wind swell late this weekend into early next week as the on-shore flow is enhanced by a tropical wave now sitting in the middle of the Atlantic to our south-east.  The tropics are starting to stir, with the Euro model calling for a spin in the Gulf of Mexico during the latter part of next week. There is also a fairly strong tropical wave coming off of the African coast. Stay tuned and fingers crossed.   Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “Atlantic high pressure will remain the dominant feature through the upcoming weekend.”

It’s 77* and partly cloudy this morning. Look for a high of 87* and sunshine.

Water temperature is 84*.

Sunset is at 7:51 p.m. and sunrise will be at 6:48 a.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
