Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Monday, November 26 at 8:30 a.m.
Make sure to check out our Web site at oceansurfshop.com. Our free, streaming live surf camera is back up and running at The Washout.
Waves at the Washout this morning are running knee-to-thigh high with a waist-high set every once in a while.
Winds are south at 15 knots, and surf is bumpy and choppy. It is fat with the high-tide.
We see strong westerly winds this afternoon blowing surf down after a cold front passage this morning. So best get on it early if you plan to surf today.
We have a high tide at 9:46 a.m., and a low tide will be at 4:12 p.m.
The Edisto buoy is reading 2.3 ft. at 9 seconds in a medium-period east/south-east wind swell. There is also a south/south-west wind swell 3.3 ft. at 4 seconds.
Look for knee to thigh high surf this morning, before strong west winds blow down the surf for afternoon. A cold Canadian air mass will blow settle in for the work week through Friday, and we don’t expect much surf this week. Surf could start to pick up a bit in a south wind swell as a warm front lifts north Saturday into Sunday.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “A cold front will sweep across the region today. A Canadian air mass will settle across the Deep South tonight and prevail most of this week. A warm front is forecasted to lift across the area Saturday night and Sunday.”
It’s raining and 64* this morning. Look for a high of 69* today with thunderstorms clearing later this afternoon.
Water temperature has dropped to 60*.
Sunrise was at 6:58 a.m. and sunset will be at 5:14 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
