Good morning, this is Luke with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Sunday, February 3rd at 8:30 a.m.
Superbowl Sunday who is everyone’s pick?
Waves at the Washout this morning are waist to belly high.
Winds are NNE at about 10 knots this morning and surf slightly textured but is not to bad.
Look for NNE winds to rotate more favorably N and become lighter later this afternoon.
We are coming off of a high tide at 7:01 a.m. Low tide will be at 12:59 p.m., and high tide will be again at 7:07 p.m.
The Edisto buoy is reading 5.9 ft. at 8 seconds in medium period SE swell.
Surf is up slightly this morning in the waist to belly high range. It does look a bit soft as we came off a morning high tide paired with some texture do to the NNE winds. Look for a fun afternoon session, as things look to become more favorable. We see high pressure move in Monday this will see this current swell fade into the work week, likely flattening the surf for a few days.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “Low pressure will develop off the South Carolina coast today and move to the northeast tonight. High pressure will then build across the region Monday and persist through late week before a cold front pushes through the area during the weekend.
It’s 57* this morning with cloudy skies and rain coming our way. Look for clouds and a high of 60*.
Water temperature has dropped to 53*. It should go back up next week as we expect warmer temperatures.
Sunrise is around 7:14 a.m. and sunset will be at 5:53 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
