Good morning, this is Annie with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Saturday, February 2nd at 8:30 a.m.
Waves at the pier this morning are about knee high.
Winds are NE at about 10 knots this morning and surf slightly textured a little bit sideshore.
Look for NE winds to increase up to 15 knots over the course of the day.
We are coming off of a high tide. Low tide will be at 12:20 p.m., and high tide will be again at 6:17 p.m. The Edisto buoy is reading 3.6 ft. at 6 seconds in SSE swell with NE winds. Surf looks slightly sideshore and mostly weak this morning and likely through the day. We see swell increase tomorrow with lighter N winds meeting the swell moving up from the SE. Could make for some playful surf, though it doesn’t look like there will be very much size. We see high pressure move in Monday and into the work week, likely flattening the surf for a few days.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “Weak upper level disturbances will affect the area this weekend while a coastal trough lingers along the Southeast coast. High pressure will then build across the region Monday and persist through late next week.
It’s 51* this morning with cloudy skies. Look for clouds and a high of 59*.
Water temperature has dropped to 53*. It should go back up next week as we expect warmer temperatures.
Sunrise is around 7:14 a.m. and sunset will be at 5:53 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
