Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Friday, February 15 at 8:30 a.m.
We have new spring inventory arriving daily, so come check that out!
Waves at the Washout this morning are very small. Maybe knee high.
Winds are slack this morning, and surf zone is clean.
Look for east winds becoming south-west at 5 to 10 knots increasing to 15 knots this afternoon. We see choppy, but small, wind swell this afternoon.
We have a low tide at 9:56 a.m., and a high tide will be at 3:54 p.m. The next low tide is at 10:03 p.m.
The Edisto buoy is reading a 3 ft. at 5 seconds in a predominantly south wind swell, but not much showing at low tide.
Pretty darn small out there this morning, and we shouldn’t expect too much significant swell late week, but we see increasing, choppy, short-period south-west wind swell Saturday. This wind swell will average waist to stomach high with poor from and chop Saturday afternoon at the high tide. We see increasing pre-frontal south-westerly wind chop build again over night on Sunday, before easterly swell fills in Tuesday and into the heart of the work week.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “Several frontal systems will affect the area beginning Saturday and continuing through much of next week.”
It’s 57* and sunny this morning. Expect a decent beach day with a high of 70* and mostly cloudy skies.
Water temperature is around 57*.
Sunrise is around 7:01 a.m. and sunset will be at 6:04 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
