Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Monday, June 3 at 8:30 a.m.
Waves at The Washout this morning are running about knee high and clean.
Winds are west/north-west this morning, and are forecast to go south-east at 10 to 15 knots this afternoon.
We have a high tide this morning, and low tide will be at 2:24 p.m. The next high tide is at 8:47 pm
The Edisto buoy is reading 2.6 feet at 8 seconds in a combination of small south-east swell and a south/south-west wind swell.
We have small surf again, and the wave drought continues into week four. Welcome to the East Coast. We should see small swell again this week, with small longboard waves on-and-off in a combination of easterly swell and south-west wind waves all week. Hurricane season started on Saturday, and it’s not too early to see a storm pop up near our coast-line along a stalled frontal boundary, or out of the Gulf of Mexico, so we’ll keep an eye on that.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “A cold front will move into the area today and push south tonight. High pressure will then build into the region from the north, before shifting offshore mid week. A weak inland surface trough will then prevail late week with an increasing potential for unsettled weather this weekend into early next week.”
It’s a beautiful morning. It’s 76* partly cloudy mixed with sun. Look for a high of 92* and sun throughout the day.
Water temperature is around 83*.
Sunrise is at 6:12 a.m. and sunset will be at 8:22 p.m.
