Sunday-June 2nd

weak with some surface texture

Time of Report: 8:00 a.m.
Wave Forecast: knee high
Traffic: none early-picking up in the p.m.
Parking: heavy at the washout with the contest going on
Dangers: flat spells

Good morning, this is Luke with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Sunday, June 2nd at 8:00 a.m.

The Folly Beach Wahine Classic finals day is today at the Washout!

Waves at the Pier this morning are running about knee high and glassy.  Weak conditions but enough for a longboard.

Winds are light and variable early, look for SW winds picking up later today up to 15 knots.

High is at 7:49 a.m. and low tide is at 1:48 this P.m.

The Edisto buoy is reading 3.3 feet at 5 seconds in a short period SSW wind-swell.

Small clean-for-now waves out there this morning enough to push the logs or teach the kiddos. Unfortunately our long-range forecast is still looking bleak. An area of low-pressure in the western Gulf is being monitored but not looking promising for us here in Charleston. Keep your eyes on the tropics!

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “A weak surface trough will linger across the area today before acold front moves through the area Sunday night and early Monday. High pressure will build north of the region on Tuesday, shifting offshore at mid week. A weak inland surface trough will then prevail late week with an increasing potential for unsettled weather next weekend.”

It’s a beautiful morning. It’s 76* partly cloudy mixed with sun.  Look for a high of 93* and sun throughout the day.

Water temperature is around 82*.

Sunrise is at 6:12 a.m. and sunset will be at 8:22 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
