Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Friday, June 21 at 7 a.m.
Today, is the Summer Solstice, the longest day of the year. So, go surf.
Waves at The Washout this morning are knee-to-thigh high with a waist high set. Surf is closing out at the morning’s low tide in a south-west wind wave. Best for a high-volume board. It’s not great, but it is rideable.
Winds are WSW at 10-15 knots, and surf is side-shore with a bit of drift up the beach and semi-clean conditions.
Look for winds from the west today at 10 to 15 knots. Surf zone stays clean with some drift as the waves fade out later today.
We have a high tide this morning at 11:25 a.m., and a low tide will be at 5:16 p.m.
The Edisto buoy is reading 4.9 feet at 6 seconds in a shorth-period south/south-west wind swell.
Some rideable surf in the water this morning and into the high tide through early afternoon. Surf fades later today as westerly winds continue to push down the swell. We see small south-west wind waves return for your weekend in the knee-to-thigh high range. This trend continues into next week.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “A trough of low pressure will persist over the Southeast through
at least the middle of next week.”
It’s 75* and sunny this morning. Look for a hot beach day with a high of 93* and sun.
Water temperature is around 82*.
Sunrise is at 6:12 a.m. and sunset will be at 8:31 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
