Surf at The Washout this morning is knee to thigh high. There is a waist high set. Another nice, long-board or fish wave this morning.
Winds are north/north-east – side-shore – and surf is bumpy.
Look for south-east winds at 10 knots this afternoon adding bump to the surf zone.
We have a high tide at 9:31 a.m., and a blow tide will be at 3:31 p.m. The next high tide at 9:55 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 2 ft. at 8 seconds in a predominant, medium-period south-east swell.
A low embedded in a tropical wave is moving in our general direction today and should move offshore of our marine area on Sunday We should see small, building swell on Saturday, with increasing surf on Sunday. Strong trade wind swell looks to follow this system as it departs to the north as high pressure sets up to our east (south of Bermuda). It’ll be a bit windy, but some surf to ride, nonetheless. Invest 96L developed overnight and looks to head in our general direction into the next weekend. So, there should be some waves next week, starting to build on Sunday. Looks like waves for long-term, too. We’ll keep you updated.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “A stationary front will meander inland through the end of this week, then dissipate early next week. Weak troughing will then prevail inland while high pressure is over the Atlantic.”
It’s 80* with cloudy skies this morning. Look for a high of 81* today with rain and T-storms in the forecast.
Water temperature is around 85*.
Sunrise is at 6:32 a.m. and sunset will be at 8:17 p.m.
