Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Wednesday, Nov. 29 at 8:30 a.m.
Please come check us out to Christmas shop for the surfer in your life. We have gift cards, should the need arise.
Waves at the Washout are knee high with thigh high sets. Perhaps a small long-board wave as the tide comes in late morning.
Winds are north at 5 knots, and surf is clean.
We expect winds to rotate to the north-east at 5 knots this afternoon, and surf stays a bit bumpy all day.
We have a low tide this morning, at 9:38 a.m. and high tide will be at 3:50 p.m.
Edisto buoy is reading 1.6 ft. at 5 seconds in small, short period east/south-easterly swell.
There is not too much surf in the forecast for today as dry high pressure dominates our weather pattern. We could see a bit of south-east swell on the late-mornin incoming tide Thursday and early Friday into the waist high range as high pressure moves east of the mid-Atlantic coast and pushes in a small trade-wind swell. Winds trend moderate north/north-east for the period. Hope for a long-board wave for Thursday. A cold front passes late Friday, and we see high angled north-east wind swell in the forecast for Saturday averaging thigh to waist high in choppy wind-swell conditions.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “High pressure will prevail over the region through Thursday. A cold front will move through late this week with high pressure to follow through early next week.”
It’s 59* with some clouds this morning. Look for a high of 71* and a nice beach day with sun and clouds mixed.
Water temperature has dropped to 59*.
Sunset is at 5:13 p.m. and sunrise will be at 7:01 a.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
