Good morning, this is Luke with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Thursday, February 28th at 8:00 a.m.
Surf at the Washout this a.m. are Knee-thigh+ and clean.
Winds are light out the W around 3 knots currently.
Look for winds to pick up slightly out of the SSW today but overall winds should remain light.
Low tide was at 9:17 this a.m. and high tide will be at 3:27 p.m.
The Edisto buoy is reading 2.6ft at 8 seconds in SE swell.
Surf has slightly built over the last 24hrs into the thigh high range. This mornings incoming tide push could see a potential waist peak. Conditions are nice and clean this morning look for some texture to develop later today with winds picking up out of the south. Looking ahead, there is a low that is set to move offshore the positioning of this low will determine what we get out of it. Either way early week we should have a new round of swell filtering into our area.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “A series of upper level disturbances through early next week along with a strong cold front early next week will result in periods of rain and eventually below normal temperatures.”
It’s 59* and partly cloudy with some fog. Look for a high of 73* and clouds mixed with sunshine today with showers coming in the afternoon.
Water temperature is around 59*.
Sunrise is around 6:56 a.m. and sunset will be at 6:11 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
