semi-choppy swell.

Time of Report: 8:30
Wave Forecast: waist to stomach. (plus)
Traffic: pretty busy
Parking: Lots of cars at the Washout and the pier already
Dangers: Work.

Good Morning. This is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report for Friday, August 11 at 8:30 a.m.
Waves at The Washout are thigh to waist high with stomach high sets.
Winds are east/north-east at 5 to10 knots, surf is bumpy and semi-choppy.
We expect south-east winds at 10 knots this afternoon and surf continues bumpy and semi-choppy later in the day.
The first high tide will be at 10:53 a.m. Low tide will be at 5:03 p.m.
Edisto Buoy is reading 3.6 ft. at 7 seconds in medium period south-east swell.
Surf looks fun this morning as the tide rolls in, averaging waist high with a stomach to rib high set in semi-choppy conditions. We do expect continued swell this weekend as a low pressure system moves just south of our marine area and produces some wind and storms just to our south. We also continue to monitor a low near the Northern Leeward Islands that could enhance easterly swell late in the weekend and early into next week. Winds trend south for the weekend, and surf should be bumpy/semi-choppy for the period.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “A weak area of low pressure off the north Florida coast today will move north along the Georgia Coast tonight. The area will then remain situated between an inland trough and Atlantic high pressure through the weekend. A cold front will approach the area early next week.
It is 80* with sun this morning. Expect partly cloudy skies today and a high of 84* with a 20% chance of rain.
Sunset is at 8:09 p.m. and sunrise will be at 6:39 a.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
