Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Friday, April 27 at 8:15 a.m.
We have LOTS of boards on sale, including $100 off Roberts and WRV, come check out what we have in stock for this week’s upcoming swell.
Surf at the Washout is running knee to thigh high with a RARE waist high set. Might work for the long-board.
Wind is out of the west/south-west at 8 to 12 knots, and surf is side-shore, textured but fairly clean.
Look for south-west wind today at 10 to 15 knots, and surf should be choppy this afternoon.
We are coming off a high tide at 6:33 a.m., and low tide will be at 12:43 p.m. The next high tide will be at 7:09 p.m.
The Edisto buoy reading 4.3 ft. at 8 seconds in medium period south-east swell and short period south/south-west wind swell 3 ft. at 4 seconds.
There is some swell at the buoy this morning, and some OK waves averaging thigh to waist high in south-east swell. This small swell should continue to pulse today, but the surf looks pretty small for the weekend and into early next week as high pressure sets up over our marine area.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “Weak low pressure over the Carolinas will move away from the region today. High pressure will build from the west tonight. A dry cold front will move through the area Saturday night. High pressure will then prevail into late next week.”
It is sunny at the beach this morning and 65*. Look for a high of 75* with sun today. We have beautiful beach weather.
Water temperature is around 67*, perfect for a short sleeve full or spring suit.
Sunset is at 7:56 p.m. and sunrise will be at 6:38 a.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
