Surf at the Washout is running thigh to waist high with a stomach high set. Bigger Sets are closing out at the outgoing tide, but it looks like fun for a longboard or a fish.
Wind is very light out of the west/south-west. Surf zone is textured, but fairly clean.
Look for south wind today at 5 to 10 knots, and surf should be bumpy this afternoon, but not too choppy.
We are coming off a high tide at day-break. Low tide is at 11:53 a.m., the next high tide will be at 6:18 pm.
The Edisto buoy reading 3.6 ft. at 8 seconds in medium period south-east swell.
There is some swell at the buoy this morning, and some fun waves averaging thigh to waist high in south-east swell. This small swell should continue to pulse today into Friday. We see smaller surf for your weekend with mostly south-west wind chop averaging thigh high and fairly clam conditions and nice beach weather.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “Dry cold fronts will move through the region Friday night and again Saturday night. High pressure will then prevail through next week.”
It is mostly sunny on the beach this morning and 60*. Look for a high of 74* with partly cloudy skies.
