Cruise on out to the Charleston Music Hall tonight for the first Carolina Surf Film Festival screening of 2018! They’ll have “The Seawolf” and “Nervous Laughter” feature films playing plus Cam Richards new edit “22” from Vissla Films! Come on out and warm your stoke up!
Come check out our wetsuit sale. All full-suits marked down at least 20% and you’ll need one for the next two months.
Surf at the Washout this morning is knee to thigh high with a waist set in south/south-west wind swell.
Winds are west at 5 to 10 knots, and surf zone is bumpy, and soft but there are some clean faces. Tide is WAY up in the rocks at the high tide this morning. Surf could get better form as the tide rolls out mid-morning.
Look for winds to become north at 10 knots this afternoon, and fairly clean surf for your Friday.
We have a high tide at 9:08 a.m., and a low tide will be at 3:19 pm. The next high tide is at 9:35 p.m.
Edisto buoy is reading 6.2 ft. at 7 seconds in south/south-west wind swell.
West winds this morning as a cold front passes our area should go north at 10 knots this afternoon and surf zone should stay fairly clean later today with waves averaging knee to thigh high at the low tide mid-afternoon. North-winds should beat down the south-west swell through the day. Surf looks small for Saturday, before a low moves out of the Gulf on Sunday and across our marine area and pushes up some south-east wind swell in the waist high range. This wind swell cleans up and drops off quickly on Monday. We see another small south wind swell fill in late Tuesday into Wednesday of next week.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “A cold front will move through this morning, followed by high pressure through Saturday. A low pressure system will move through Georgia and the Carolinas on Sunday, followed by Atlantic high pressure Monday into Tuesday. Another cold front will affect the area during the middle to latter half of next week.”
It is 57* this morning with clouds and light showers. Look for sun by afternoon today and the high stays 57*.
Water temperature is right around 50*.
Sunset is at 5:52 p.m. and sunrise will be at 7:13 a.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
