Surf at the Washout this morning is knee to thigh high with a slightly bigger set.
Winds are light and variable. Surf zone is bumpy but clean. Surf is way up in the rocks at the morning’s high tide, but should get better form as the tide drops out.
Look for south-west winds at 10 to 15 knots this afternoon, adding chop to the surf zone.
Tide just started going out, and low tide will be at 2:31 pm. The next high tide is at 8:44 p.m.
Edisto buoy is reading 3.3 ft. at 11 seconds in a combination of south-east ground swell 2.2 ft. at 11 seconds and south-west wind swell 2.6 ft. at 4.6 seconds.
Light winds this morning should go south-west at 10 knots this afternoon and surf zone shows some chop later today with waves averaging knee to thigh high at the low tide mid-afternoon. A cold front passage on Friday morning sees weak, south-west wind swell leftovers. Surf looks small for Saturday, before a low moves out of the Gulf on Sunday and pushes up some south-east wind chop in the waist to stomach high range. This wind swell cleans up and drops off quickly to start your work week.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “High pressure will remain over the western Atlantic through tonight. A cold front will move through Friday morning, followed by brief high pressure through Saturday. A Gulf low pressure system will move through late Saturday night through early Monday, followed by Atlantic high pressure. Another cold front will affect the area next Wednesday.”
It is 42* this morning with sunny skies. Look for sun today and a high of 62*. We have nice beach weather.
Water temperature is right around 50*.
Sunset is at 5:52 p.m. and sunrise will be at 7:13 a.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
