Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for
Friday, March 9 at 8:15 a.m.
We’ve received a new shipment of Rusty Torsion Spring boards, and a whole line of Beater boards, including the 9’ single fin log and the Round Nose fish. Go soft or go home!
Surf at the Washout is ankle to knee high.
Winds are WNW at 10 to 12 knots, and surf zone is clean.
We are coming off a low tide, and high tide will be at 1:22 p.m. The next low tide will be at 7:28 p.m.
Edisto buoy is reading 4 ft. at 6 seconds in short period south-west wind waves.
Surf looks small today with off-shore winds continuing. We see short-period, choppy south wind swell pick up a bit on Saturday, building Sunday into the waist to chest high range . Conditions will be choppy, wind-blown as a low pressure system affects our marine area. This could clean up some late day Sunday. We see a quick clean-up for Monday before surf fades out the middle of next week.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “High pressure will build in from the west through Saturday. A storm system will affect the region Sunday and Sunday night, possibly into Monday. Cool and dry high pressure should then prevail through the rest of the week.”
It is a cold 38* with sun and wind this morning. Look for a high of 60* with sun all day.
Water temperature is back down to 58*. Ugh!
Sunset is at 6:22 p.m. and sunrise will be at 6:37 a.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
