Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Friday, March 15 at 8:30 a.m.
All of our full wetsuits are marked down for end of season, come see if we have what you need and save money on next seasons suit.
We’ve got soft-boards in all shapes and sizes by Odysea, Beater and Surf Hardware. Come check ‘em out.
Waves at the Washout are knee-to-thigh high in a semi-choppy south wind swell. There is an occasional waist high set.
Winds are south at 5 to 10, expected south-west at 15 gusting to 20 by late morning. We see choppy, drifty surf all day.
We have a low tide at 9:25 a.m., and a high tide will be at 3:24 p.m. The next low tide is at 9:36 p.m.
The Edisto buoy is reading 4.3 ft at 6 seconds in a dominant south-east wind swell.
We have thigh-to-waist high surf this morning, and surf should build a bit on the incoming tide with strong south-west wind increasing and making for choppy conditions. Surf drops off for Saturday, but there should be a few long-board leftovers at first light Saturday morning. The start of your work week looks small, but we could see a building north-east swell Tuesday and Wednesday as low pressure moves out of the Gulf of Mexico and off the coast during the middle of next week and high pressure sets up just to our north.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “A cold front will cross through the region this evening, then stall to our south. Our area will then remain sandwiched between high pressure to the northwest and the stationary front to the south this weekend into early next week. A dry cold front should move through Tuesday, followed by high pressure for the middle of next week.”
It’s 67* with sun behind the clouds this morning. Look for sun behind the clouds today and a high of 75*.
Water temperature is around 62*.
With the time change, sunrise is around 7:28 a.m. and sunset will be at 7:27 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
