Good morning, this is Luke with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Sunday, July 21 at 7 a.m.
Surf at The Washout is knee-thigh with a waist set. There is a thigh set, and a long-board wave if you need to get wet.
Winds are south-west at 10 knots, and surf zone has some surface texture.
Look for south-west winds picking up at 15 to 20 knots this afternoon making the surf zone more choppy through the afternoon hours.
We have a high tide at 11:31 a.m. low tide will be at 5:28 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 3.0 ft at 5 seconds in south-west windswell.
Knee-waist high SW wind-swell has built some overnight. Best bet is to get on it this mornings incoming tide push. This small south-west wind swell continues on-and-off for the next several days, picking up Tuesday of next week as south winds increase during the middle of next week. It’s looking like we could see a more significant east/south east swell during the last week of July/first week of August. We’ll keep you updated.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “The area will remain situated between an inland trough andAtlantic high pressure into early Tuesday. A cold front will movethrough the region Tuesday night and stall off the coast duringmid to late week, perhaps lingering into the upcoming weekend.”
It’s 84* with sun this morning. We have a 20% chance for storms today, with a high of 93*.
Water temperature is around 85*.
Sunrise is at 6:24 a.m. and sunset will be at 8:26 p.m.
